When this beloved pizza speakeasy quietly closed its doors in 2007, the outcry was loud—and local fans celebrated its 2009 reopening with the enthusiasm of a long-awaited homecoming. Formerly known as Penny’s Pizza, Red Top Pizza by Penny’s is still serving up its iconic, thin, crisp pies from Thursday through Sunday.
There are no frills here—just exceptional pizza made the right way. Expect a perfectly crisp, cornmeal-dusted crust, sweet red sauce.
Like the best speakeasies, it all starts with a hidden entrance—tucked away from the street—but unlike the rest, Red Top Pizza by Penny’s proudly displays its name. A staple of the Limerick area since 1970, it has earned a cult following for its handcrafted, upside-down pies and signature cornmeal crunch.
